A tsunami survivor built a beach house that gives back.
Iniala Shores is an ultra-luxurious boutique resort with 10 percent of room revenues going to a children’s charity. Mark Weingard, who survived the 2004 tsunami in Phuket, built Iniala after his home was devastated by the catastrophe. Guests are invited to visit the Home & Life orphanage, which provides shelter and care to children devastated by the tsunami, supported by The Inspirasia Foundation, set up by Weingard 10 years ago.
The villas at Iniala Shores have opened their door in January 2017.
